What Causes Abdominal Pain And Vomiting After Food Intake?

My 10 year old daughter wakes up almost every night for the last several weeks, an hour after going to bed. She complains her stomach hurts and that she was not asleep. (in reality she was asleep). Sometimes this occurs a couple hours after eating dinner. We dont eat junk for dinner. In most cases well balanced diet. Two times she has vomited. We have also told her to get a drink of milk or water and go to bed. When she wakes up, her stomach is fine.

Hello, thank you for writing in to HCM.

You have not mentioned anything about your daughter's bowel movements. Kindly give us information on that too if possible. She could be suffering from peptic dis order.
Keep her on bland diet for a few days and include fibre rich food. Small and frequent meals along with lot of water/ oral fluids should be given.
You could also give her anti helminthics.
If condition doesn't improve, you should get her liver function test and ultrasound. Endoscopy might also be required.

Hope this helps.
