What Causes Abdominal Pain, Back Pain And Heavy Periods?

Hello, Yesterday and today I have been having sharp pains in my abdomen. I seem to feel more discomfort on the lower left side. I ve been on my period but this never is an issue. I do tend to have heavy periods with back pain and bloating but not the sharp pains in abdomen that come and go and especially not all the gas. I have had quite a lot of discomforting gas and two times felt a little sharp pain on the right side of my chest (under the breast) which was yesterday afternoon and early this evening. I am wondering if I might have a urinary tract infection and if this would cause the gas and such? I had sex before my period and was sore for a couple of days and urinating a lot. Its fairly tender towards the lower abdomen which is strange because I am towards the end of my period. What do you think? Also it s interesting that before yesterday I was eating very healthy-lots of fresh veggies and fruits/grains. Then yesterday was a whole day of eating sushi, indian food, etcc heavier foods. Maybe its a problem with my period? Thanks very much for your time!

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

You need not worry much. Pain could be due to periods also. Not really it has to accompany each cycle. After your periods are over you can have a pelvic scan done to see any abnormalities on uterus or ovaries or endometrium. After some amount of bleeding we usually tend to take foods. Hence, need not worry about that.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
