What Causes Abdominal Pain Despite Taking Cefuroxime And Clavulanic Acid For UTI?

Hello sir, My wife age 21.we went to doctor for her pain appendices area. we test blood,urine and whole abdomen. doctor found UTI.her pus cells 16-17HPF and Epithelial Cells 17-18. We also found low blood pressure and weakness. D. description us cefuroxim 500mg+clavulanic acid125 mg twich a day..but my wife getting big suffering after taking the one tab. after taking the tab, start paining for full belly, vibrating full body,she can t stand anymore.please help. could i change the medicine or a lower power anything? English is my native language, forget me for miss spell.

Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Cefuroxime antibiotic might be giving your wife an upset stomach as it can cause bowel irritation in some. Taking this after food will decrease such problems. Taking h2 blockers like Ranitidine ( zantac ) along with it also decreases irritation. If this is not helping then have a review with your doctor to change to another sensitive antibiotic. Give her more fluids. Taking barley water, cranberry juice is good. You can also give sodium hydrogen citrate syrup in water for relief of symptoms.
