Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So a year ago I was having sex and all the sudden I got this horrible abdominal pain which didn t go away for an hour or two and it s happened a couple times since that. Also my stomach will randomly hurt in my lower abdominal region and will last a couple hours. The a couple months ago I started having increased discharge with a bad odor and I have two little bumps on my groin area that have been there for awhile. Any suggestions of what could cause this?
Pain with intercourse should prompt a visit with your doctor and have a gynecological examination. During the examination the doctor will decide if other examinations are needed and possibly will ask a pap smear to make sure the cervix is ok and also might ask for cervical samples for chlamydia and gonorrhea to rule out these infections as well.
A transvaginal ultrasound might be ordered as well to rule out masses of the ovaries and the uterus or other problems in the pelvic area.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
