Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Abdominal Pain, Fever, Sore Throat And Headache In A Child?
My child was diagnosed with strep throat on 9/6. Throat and headache improved, but began pain in upper left quadrant of abdomin on 9/8. He was tested for mono on 9/9. Results were negative. Today, 9/10, he has less abdominal pain, but temp running around 100, soar throat and pretty bad headache. What could he have? How should I treat him? Tomorrow is Sunday. Should I take him to the walk-in clinic or wait until monday when he can see his pediatrician?
It looks like your child has not been either physically examined or treated completely.
Visit ER, let the child get physically examined, get all the investigations done, CBC, Throat swab, sputum examination, Urinalysis, stool examination. He may need antibiotics or antivirals.
The treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. In the meantime, give him antacids (syrup) for relieve & homemade easily digestible food.
Keep him well hydrated. Always give medicines under your local treating doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
