What Causes Abdominal Pain On The Left Side?

I have had stomach pain for four days. Now it hurts when I laugh or cough under the left side of the ribs. My lower back is hurting as well. I had a total hysterectomy last year and I had my gall bladder removed two years ago. I do still have my appendix.

With regards to left side abdominal pain it may be related with constipation, stomach problems ( gastritis ulcer), appendix inflammation ( rarely).
at this situation I strongly suggest to perform abdominal ultrasound.
