General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is understandable to be concerned.

In general, screening (checking the esophagus and stomach for changes), is done every 3 to 5 years by endoscopy.

If you are having this done then any early changes, if they do occur (and they may not), should be easily picked up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
