What Causes Abdominal Pain Post Insertion Of Nexplanon?

I recently had the nexplanon put in October 30th. Since then i have been experiencing pain around my right side under my ribcage and left side around kidneys. I experience pains at random times during the day and last about 5 to 10 mins. Any ideas? Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Some of these symptoms like experiencing pain in abdomen and pain in the rib cage could happen as side effects due to implantation of birth control devices like Nexplanon. They could be caused by muscle spasams.
These symptoms can be overcome by taking analgesic medications like Ibuprofen. Also drink good quantity of fluids to keep yourself hydrated.
Such symptoms should subide gradually. In case it doesn't and fresh symptoms occur, then you need to consult Gynecologist for change in birth control measures.
