What Causes Abdominal Pain Specifically After Eating?

Hello.I went to my doctor for abdominal pain, specifically after I eat. Because of location, she order an US of the abdomen which showed a cyst in my kidney. I had a CT of the abdomen today. They are requesting I come back and have another once specifically of the Chest and liver. The reason is the CT from today showed a nodule in the lung and a possible hemiangioma in the liver. Plus, the want me to have a US of the pelvis because of cysts in my ovary. I m 42 years old and active at the gym. As I m typing this, I feel pain in my back and throbbing pain all over my body. They are trying to schedule me for the CT next week, but I m thinking I may need to go to the ER so I can at least get my CT done.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the neither of the condition such as ovarian cyst, kidney cyst or liver hemangioma will not cause pain in abdomen specifically after eating. The most likely cause may be gall bladder dyspepsia, stomach ulcer or others. Kindly visit an ER for the amount of pain, rather than focusing on the CT early, as that may also turn out to be normal and you may require an upper GI endoscopy!

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
