What Causes Abdominal Pain Upon Stretching Or Lying Down?

Over the past 2-3 weeks, I have been experiencing stomach pains in the mid to lower area of my stomach. It only occurs when I lay flat on my stomach which is very often and when I lay on my back. When I lay on my back, I also feel as if my stomach is stretching which causes more uncomfortable pain. I also struggle with bending down as I feel the pain most times. I recently had my period although it was lighter than usual and I also took a pregnancy test to eliminate possibilities which came back negative. I have never experienced anything like this before and the pain gets worse every day and I would like to know if i should get checked out or not and what could possibly be the problem?

Hello,

Of course you should get checked. Do a stool test for bacteria and parasites and also do an abdominal ultrasound to get checked. The results will show if any infection is causing the abdominal pain you are having.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
