What Causes Abdominal Pain While Breathing?

Abdominal discomfort and radiates around to my back, specifically when breathing in. It feels like strained muscles but I havn't lifted anything or done any excersises. I am a 41 year old female, 105 pounds, 5" 5 1/2. In July 2008 I had a partial hystorectomy/laproscopic surgery.

HI. This can be due to the muscle strains as you rightly noticed. This is increasing with breathing means can be due to muscular sprain or the intercostal nerves got stretched or think of the pleurasy.
IF the pain is increasing with coughing it is more likely to be due to muscles.
Get anti-inflammatory tablets like Ibuprofen and see the results. Get a consultation with the Doctor as a clinical examination can lead to a proper diagnosis and plan for the management and investigations if required.
