Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Primary/ first episode of genital herpes is usually very symptomatic. Recurrences that follow a primary episode may be as symptomatic as the primary one.
Symptoms include pelvic and pain in hips/ buttocks that may radiate down to thighs and legs.
There may be constitutional symptoms like headache, backache, abdominal bloating etc.
Primary episode and subsequent few recurrences can be florid and there are usually numerous lesions/ sores, pain, burning swelling and nodes.
There may be difficult urinating and defecation.
The severity and frequency of recurrences decreases with time.
If I was the treating doctor I would suggest an Oral antiviral medication e.g acyclovir Or valacyclovir.
In addition I would have also started you on oral antiinflammatory/ pain killers like ibuprofen for symptomatic relief.
These are prescription drugs and therefore I suggest you to talk to your doctor for the needful.

Regards
