What Causes Abdominal Pain While Suffering From IBS?

I think I have IBS as I have been experiencing stomach/abdominal pain for the last two months along with a feeling of being bloated. I also noticed my bowel movements have changed from feeling constipated and diarrhea. Should I see my doctor or a specialist? I do notice that the pains are diminished during physical exercise and rest.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to irritable bowel syndrome.

I would recommend using Simethicone medication for the bloating.

I also recommend taking probiotics.

If the symptoms continue you should consult a gastrologist for further evaluation and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
