What Causes Abdominal Pain?

I am 49 years old and have been having lower abdominal pains consistently over the last 6 months. Sometimes it is a constant uncomfortable feeling sometimes it is in the form of a cramp. I had a colonoscopy during the past year and it came back fine. In addition, my trips to the bathroom have decreased significantly as well as the quality of the trips. Any idea what might be going on?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Consistent pains in lower abdomen over last 6 months should be taken very seriously as you have other symptoms as you have mentioned.
I would advise you you the following in such a situation:
Clinical evaluation, examination by your Doctor, preferably a General Surgeon.
CT scan of the whole abdomen will give definite diagnosis.
Additional tests of blood, stool and urine would help further.
All these things together an give a proper diagnosis and thus making it possible to have an appropriate management.
Colonoscopy was fine last year and may need a review colonoscopy.
I find this answer helpful
