Hi Hayley,
Thanks for choosing HCM.
Please do not be scared. Symptoms of
pregnancy do not occur so early. It takes atleast 2-3 weeks after pregnancy has occurred for the symptoms to appear.
You have taken the
plan B a little late. It is supposed to be taken within 72 hours to offer maximum protection. It would help to know when was your last menstrual period. Remember that chances of getting pregnant are higher from day 12-18 from the first day of the cycle for women with fairly regular cycles. If the sexual contact occurred outside this period, chances of getting pregnant are low.
Your symptoms are more likely to be due to
planB. They tend to go away in a day or two. You can take some antiemetic like
promethazine to control
nausea and
vomiting if it is severe.
It is difficult to know if you are pregnant now. I suggest that you wait tilll the date of your next period [it may either get delayed or come early due to plan B]. If there are no periods, pregnancy can be ruled out by doing a
blood test then or a urine pregnancy test 7 days after the expected date of the period.
Do not worry as chances of conceiving after a single act are low. Also remember that it is wise to use condoms as they protect against pregnancy as well as other sexually transmitted diseases.
Hope I was able to help you. Thanks for using Health Care Magic.
I would be happy to answer any further queries.
Have a nice day.
