What Causes Abdominal Spasms And Pain Radiating To The Back?

I have been diagnosed sle 19+ years. I ve had severe upper quadrant pain for 7 days with spasm like pains centralized just under my lower ribs, but it now radiates to back and across stomach to belly button. Blood work slightly elevated for pancreas but nothing to explain this. I have tried advil, tylenol, Zanaflex, aleve, rolaids, nexium and changed to non fat clear liquid diet, nothing has helped.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have abdominal spasms and pain radiating to the back . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like appendicitis , consuming foods known to cause gas in some people, such as milk products that contain lactose, broccoli , crohn’s disease , gastroenteritis , irritable bowel syndrome or urinary tract infection . Kidney stone can also cause such symptoms . I would suggest you to avoid above mentioned foods , eat light and non spicy specially at night , take light walk after every meal , eat small and frequent meals .If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy along with stool test . Doctor may prescribe ornidazole , omeprazole , laxative , anti inflammatory along with antacids . Doctor may also refer you to urologist for UTI .
