What Causes Abnormal Behavior In Case Of Depression?

Why is my wife using Selzic OD 600 tablets (Oxcarbazepine)? Two days ago, my wife was under depression and did not sleep the whole night and the next day, she lost her mind and does not know what she was doing for about 4-5 hours. I took her to Neurologist, but he told me to go to the psychiatrist. Still now also she is behaving strangely sometimes. Can anyone explain me what might be the problem?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

I can understand your problem. She is taking Oxcarbazepine and is having strange behaviour. She is not sleeping properly. Oxcarbazepine is a mood stabiliser drug which is also a good anti-convulscent drug. The drug is used in seizure disorders, in bipolar disorders and in a number of other conditions. She is taking 600 mg per day and is having abnormal behaviour, poor sleep. As per my opinion she is probably having some mood disorder most likely bipolar disorder, but detailed evaluation is needed to make proper diagnosis. I would advise you to consult her psychiatrist and take expert opinion.

Thanks, hope this helps you
