What Causes Abnormal Bleeding Post Miscarriage?

Hi my doctor prescribed norethisterone as i had, had a missed miscarriage and had no bleeding. I stopped taking the last tablet last thursday. Was on 3 a day for 10 days. I started bleeding yesterday and its very very heavy and clots. Bled through underware and pj bottoms. Is this normal after taking this medication?
