What Causes Abnormal Pap Smear?

i went for a colposcopy because i had an abnormal smear, at the colposcopy the doctor said that it looked like cin 3 and that i would need treatment, she also took a biopsy, does this mean i don't have cancer? or is that what the biopsy is for? i'm really scared and confused!!!
