What Causes Abnormal Periods After Diathermy Loop Excision?

I am a 42 year old female, I had diathermy loop excision in feb 2013 for cin 2 .I have now had a change in my periods they now last for 20 - 25 days with spotting between. I have had a scan which has shown my endometrium to be thickened.I finished bleeding 10 days ago should I be worried?
