Hi. I keep smelling things that arnt there. I will into a room and smell beans or toast, fried eggs this normally happens late in the evening when there is no odours around, If I'm with someone I ask them to check and they think I'm imaging it. As per your query you are experiencing abnormal sense of smell .This condition is known as phantosmia . There can be many reasons for this condition like neurological and psychological disorders such as schizophrenia, mood disorders, Parkinsons disease, epilepsy, neuroblastoma, and frequent migraines. It is also known as olfactory hallucinations . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to check weather the problem is olfactory or gustatory related.. Doctor may order few test . Doctor may prescribe anti depressive drugs or recommend surgical treatments proposed that has included olfactory bulb ablation through a bifrontal craniotomy approach . For now maintain proper oral hygiene and take stream .
