What Causes Abnormal Swelling In The Labia Minora?
My daughter, 25 years old, who was a very fit athlete, just returned from an 18 month mission from our church where she only did moderate running. She did an intense training routine last week ( 7 days ago) with an insane abdominal workout of 80 intense crunches. Her abdominal muscles were extremely sore for 3 days where she could hardly stand up straight. They are still a little sore. She did some weights yesterday. Today, this afternoon she noticed that in her lower abdominal area it was swollen and jelly-like as if it was full of fluid. She went to Urgent care where they did blood work and and urine sample. All looked normal. She had a pelvic exam as well. The doctor said it was a mystery. She has been icing the area. Now she just went to the bathroom and now the swelling has gone down to her inner labia. It is VERY large and abnormal. What should we do?
Acute inflammation of the sebaceous sweat gland or bartholincyst most likely. Kindly go for private consultation with high resolution photo image of the lesion (if no objection) for best evaluation and further guidelines in this regard.
