What Causes Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding With SOB?

I am having abnormal vaginal bleeding with SOB...I began my cycle on 2/7 and it has not subsided...I am getting a bit concerned...I actually called my MD who I have an appt on mon suggested that I take to motrins to slow it down ..again I am getting a bit concerned..Should I be?
