What Causes Accumulation Of Thick Nasal Mucus In The Mornings?

been having heavy mucus towards morning and until I get out of bed and have something to dring-sleeping on wedge and pillow, not eating 3 hours before bed, eliminated caffeine sause and other irritants diagnosed with sinusitis and maybe acid reflux but only symptom is heavy mucus. Just finishing ceftin 500 mg., Flonase, and Claritin but nothing is working to get rid of this heavy mucus-seems that Flonase is making me blow by nose (which is usually stuffed) so that is good but does not affect morning andheavy mucus during the night.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The mild bronchitis has to be ruled out here

For that chest X-ray and spirometry can be done.

Rule out allergic inflammation or upper respiratory tract by complete blood count test and absolute eosinophil count test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
