What Causes Ache In Arm And Shoulder?

I have an ache in my left arm above the elbow (on the outside of my arm) and into the outside of my shoulder. Hurts all the time, whether I move it or not. Have held heat to it and am taking ibuprofen but pain does not totally go away. Have had this for 2 months.
