What Causes Aching Pain On The Side Of The Mouth?

While eating a bagel heard a click sound and then aching pain on right side of mouth . Hurt to chew for about a week and then no pain until this past week when pain came back when chewing on that side. At first it is a sharp pain then just an ache that comes and goes

Thanks for the query..

If you have heard a click while eating then either you have accidentally injured your jaw joint that can be due to slight dislocation or trauma to the soft cushion like ligament known as Articular disc..
Secondly there is also a possibility of tooth cracking due to sudden hard biting..
So for ruling out the cause consult a Dentist and get evaluated and he can advise you a Panoromic x ray or an OPG for ruling out the cause and treatment can be done accordingly..
For now it will be advisable for you to avoid chewing from the right side.
Take a soft diet to prevent exertion over the jaw joints.
If still there is pain you can take painkillers like Advil or Aleve.
