Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thanks for putting up your query here.
As per the literature, white wines are more responsible for causing
gastric reflux disease than red wines. Also there are chances you may be already having gastro-oesophageal reflux disease or
gastritis due to other factors getting now excaberated because of wine.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-Antacids like ranitine in morning or before taking alcohol may help.
-If you dont want to completely stop drinking alcohol, drink alcohol in moderate amounts. It means a quarter of alcohol thrice in a week is fine.Avoid drinking more than this at one time.
-Have meals 3 hours before going to bed.
-Avoid hot,spicy,fried food.
-Avoid
smoking and exposure to air pollutants or second hand smoke.
If the symptoms persists, visit to gastroentrologist for barium studies and
endoscopy may be needed for further management.
Hope this information helps.
Thanks.
