Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have acid reflux, and had a sudden onset of reflux at work tonight (it usually happens while asleep and it is very infrequent of late). I take omeprazole daily, and had nachos with cheese, and a cheesy bean burrito for dinner, but six hours earlier. I then experienced very slight lower jaw pain, which has since subsided. I took an acid reducer a co-worker had, and some antacid tablets when I got home, and feel pretty good now, but was concerned about the sudden onset of the reflux.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of acid reflux and lower jaw pain which points towards Gastro-esophageal reflux disease in which which acid from stomach enters into food pipe which causes heartburn. I would suggest you to
-Avoid large meals rather than this take frequent small meals. -Drink plenty of water. -Walk and exercise daily. -Avoid spicy, acidic, hot food substances. - Relax jaws and apply warm compresses.
Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
