What Causes Acid Reflux While Taking Duromine For Obesity?

Hi, I've had acid reflux since 2 years ago, but i did not see a doctor or an ENT to diagnose it. I continued my unhealthy lifestyle and my condition worsened. More than a month ago, I was met by a embarrassing encounter in the middle of the quiet lecture hall. I am 100% sure i have a weak LES. I'm also obese. I took duromine 10 days ago and it has proved successful for me to lose weight. Additionally, i have been making changes to my lifestyle and diet by avoiding the trigger food and exercising more often. I saw a change for the better. I did not experience any awkward loud gurgling sound from my throat, but there was still acid reflux. After i took duromine my condition seems to be worsened to occur more frequently. I was prescribed my first set of omeprazole today, and a appointment at the hospital 1month+ later. i still have 20 tablets of duromine left. And i really wish to continue taking it as I understand that obesity might be causing my acid reflux. Is it advisable to do so?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you suffered from side effects of Duromiine that is an anorectic drug and reduce appetite..
Due to side effects of Duromine your symptoms exaggerated so it is better not to continue the medicine and loosing weight can be very well accomplished with a balanced diet, regular work out and drinking plenty of water..
You should consult a Dietician and get a proper diet plan prepared and follow it will regular follow up..
Continue taking medication for acid reflux as advised to you and also take small frequent meals, take short walk after meals,take dinner two hours before sleeping and sleep with head and chest slightly raised as compared to feet.
