What Causes Acute Bacterial Prostatitis?

Hi I had a catheter removed 1 week ago. I developed a uti after removal. I still have the uti but it has settled a bit as each day passes. I was diagnosed with acute bacterial prostatitis. My question is what are my chances of going back into retention after catheter removal? Bare in mind I have had it out for 1 week now and my urine flow is weak but the uti doesn t help that as it makes me go regular. For example today I have taken in 1.6 litres and to I have now passed 1.2 litres. Padding that happened over a number of voids but. Maybe 12 times visiting the bathroom all up. Any advice would be great. Thanks. I m 32 yr old male

Since you have bacterial prostatitis you may need to be treated with antibiotics and this is the only solution.
Being untreated worsen the water retention.
You should do an uroculture and get the right treatment.
