Thanks...I m a 69 year old woman and an AML patient in the hospital at the moment because I have developed celulitis on my right labia. I have already had my induction chemo and consolidation chemo and waiting for my blood counts to go up so that I can have a stem cell transplant. A perfect match donor has been found for me. I am transfusion dependent. I am now hospitalized because of this infection and thus far have been treated with IV antibiotics, such as Acyclovir, Ciprofloxacin, (anti fungal) Fluconazole, Tazocin, Tobramycin and currently Voricomazole, and also Meropenem. I ve had a couple of ultra sounds and an abcess had been ruled out. I am still neutropenia. There doesn t seem to be much improvement if any, and I experience much pain and discomfort. I am tasked site baths, using a irrigation fluid after urination, using saline to sooth the site, and using Lidacaine also. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
