Hi Doctor, for last six months I am suffering from sciatica (lover back pain) .There is acute pain in my lover back to my right leg and numbness in left leg. I take Gabapentin 100 mg at bed time for last one week but no effect. What should I do to cure? Can you suggest any other medicine. My friend told me that there is deficiency of Vitamin B-12 in my body,Can I take B-12? Please reply.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to sciatica.

I would recommend to use anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day. I also recommend to take vitamin B12 supplement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
