What Causes Acute Sinus Congestion In A Cigarette Smoker?
My husband, nearly 40 years old, a long-time cigarette smoker, and a chronic sufferer of acute sinus congestion/impaction has recently been coughing so hard that it induces vomiting. There is no nausea associated, and the mucus that accompanies his sinus symptoms remains clear.Could this possibly be an upper respiratory infection or bronchitis?
Hi..Welcome to HCM.. Smokers usually have a condition called chronic bronchitis with continuous production of sputum. This aggravates when there is an upper or a lower respiratory tract infection.. He can use an antibiotic course along with nasal decongestant and a cough syrup.. Better to cut short on smoking and if possible quit smoking.. Hope I helped with this information.Take care...
