What Causes Aggressive Behaviour In An Individual With Down S Syndrome?

Hello, my son is a 32 year old individual with Down s syndrome. He has always had aggressive behavior and we have never been able to find something that combats this behavior. I would say he experiences impulsive aggressive behavior. He was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism. It went from hyper to hypo. What are your thoughts on meds to cobalt the aggressive vehavior?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Down syndrome isn't correlated to aggressive behaviour but it may have other elements of autism or anxiety disorder. You can use antidepressants such Alprazolam.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
