What Causes Allergic Reactions To Sugar?

I am having odd reactions to sugar. If I eat a sugary cookie I end up with stomached pain, if I eat vanilla ice cream, I have horrible gas and intestinal problems, now sugar has begun to burn my mouth if I try a sugary cookie or even jelly in the morning.

Cells in the body use sugar for energy, so an adverse reaction to sugar can cause serious complications. ... A severe allergy to something mixed in with sugar-containing foods can be cause for concern due to anaphylaxis. Sugar intolerance to certain sugars is not a true allergy.
