What Causes Alternate Spotting And Heavy Bleeding When On Depo Shots?
I was on depo for 9 months (3 shots) I was suppose to get another shot November 26-2014 I didn t go due to the fact I bled for the full 9 months of being on the shot. I ve been having a lot of brown spotting for the last 5 days. sometimes it will be little amounts and sometimes it can be heavy. when will this stop. it s really affecting my life.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Depo provera injection causes menstrual irregularities. However, these irregularities usually become normal within3-6 months of stopping depo provera injection. Spotting or bleeding can also be due to local lesions in cervix or vagina including cervical cancer, or any pathology in the uterus, or due to hormonal disturbances. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated including pap smear, hormonal profile and ultrasound, and get treated accordingly.
