What Causes Amenorrhea And Scanty Menstrual Bleeding?

Hello. I irregular cycles from age 16-18, then they stopped. I didn t have a cycle for about 6 years. I didn t think anything about it because I was young and thought it didn t matter. When I turned 24, I went to the dr to figure out what what was going on. They put me on norethindrone 5mg and I take 1 pill each day for the first 7 days of the month and my cycle stars on the 10th of each month. I ve been taking the meds for almost 10y. Over the last 3-4m, my cycle has been so light-- way lighter than normal. I m not sure what s going on but I m a bit nervous. Do I need to talk to my dr about other meds or something? Has this med ran its course?

Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the issue sounds to be hormone
insufficiency, cerebral control of hormone secretion related issue or
others.

* I would like to evaluate the case particularly for physical
examination, evaluating clinical signs and series of lab reports,
radiology evaluations to arrive at a particular diagnosis.

Feel free to post further doubts.
Thank you.
