What Causes Amenorrhea?

Hi, I am 33 years old lady having 4 year old child. Visited Dr. after not having period for 2 months and Dr. suggested Maxogest tab and checked for pregnancy, and it was negative . One tablet in morning and one after dinner. Course was for 5 days. I was told that I will get in periods before or max 7 days. But today its more than 7 days and no periods. 1. Is this normal? If yes then should I visit my doc again or wait more time? 2. Can there be any serious problem?
