What Causes An Abnormal Pap Smear Test Report After A Hysterectomy?

I had an abnormal pap smear test result after having had a hysterectomy (removing just my uterus & cervix completely), but leaving both ovaries just 10 months ago. I just got the abnormal results today & my doctor wants to redo the test. What is most likely the cause for these results? I am 42 years old.

Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your abnormal pap smear result Following a hysterectomy I strongly believe that you have developed a cervical cancer

In view of this please see a gynecologist specialist for further clinical assessment Councelling and possible commencement of chemoprophylactic medication

Moreover your physician can go ahead and repeat the test to rule the the above condition

I hope this helps Regards
