What Causes An Altered Sense Of Smell?

I have constant lemon taste in the mouth. I have otherwise lost sense of taste but no problem with my smell. I also feel that my mouth is not allowing for smooth transfer to my throat as a lot of food get stuck between my teeth and inner part of my mouth!

hello there ,
welcome to HCM,

Bad odour or smell in the mouth can be due to several reasons such as bacterial or fungal infection of oral mucosa including gums ,tongue, throat etc , decayed teeth , gum infection or abscess. , poor oral hygiene with deposition of calculus and bacterial plaque .
i would suggest you to consult a oral surgeon and get the examination done so that the disease can be diagnosed and accordingly treated.
you may need a thorough cleaning and curretage of teeth and gums followed by a course of antibiotics and antioxidants.

take care.
