What Causes An Altered Sense Of Smell?

Hi, For the past day or so, I ve been smelling cigarette smoke but there s nothing around me. No one in my family smokes, and I m inside my room. Its been pretty weird and since I have anxiety, I ve been freaking out about it because it won t go away. I can taste it in my throat sometimes and I ve been coughing a lot. What should I do?
