What Causes An Altered Sense Of Taste After A Dental Check Up?
I'm 46 and going through first phase of meno pause. Im extremely healthy and still have all my wisdom teeth and just had a dental check up and they were swollen but not infected and I continue to have a horrible taste/texture in my mouth only on one side. My tongue feels weird, right side my jaw inside lining feels weird - right side and everything taste horrible when I eat. After I eat my symptoms are worse in my mouth. Is there anything I can do to make this go away? It's been four weeks and no change. Very frustrated.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain the symptoms that you are experiencing can be due to pus discharge from the area of wisdom tooth due to inflamed and infected gum flap and the weird taste can be due to pus discharge.. It can also be due to any other tooth that is infected or decayed on right side.. Other cause can be deep gum infection.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x rays can be done for diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. As of now do flavored antiseptic mouthwash.. Do warm saline gargles.. Chew flavored sugar free chewing gum..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
