What Causes An Altered Sense Of Taste Along With Severe Fatigue?

Hi - In the last month or so and more recently daily, I suddenly feel a strange taste in my mouth suddenly followed by extreme weakness. I lie down immediately and within a few minutes I feel much better, can get up and go back to what I was doing... What the heck could possibly be going on???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, you need to have serum electrolytes checked alongside B12 and folic acid levels. Local pathology should also be ruled out by review by an oral physician. Meanwhile, supplements for calcium, folic acid and zinc as well as B complex may be started.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin,
