What Causes An Altered Sense Of Yeast Smell?

Lately I smell yeast more so than normal when eating bread or drinking beer. All smells even have an off smell to them and this only started happening about 2 months ago. It doesn t matter what kind of bread it is I still smell the yeast whether it s a tortilla or regular white or wheat bread. Is there any way to get rid of this?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you are experiencing yeast like smell for last 2 months . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sinusitis , nasal polyp , acid reflux and nerve dysfunction like olfactory nerve . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI , nasal endoscopy , blood test and physical examination of throat . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) at least for 10 days along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also consider surgery or refer you to neurologist .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
