What Causes An Arm Mole With Pus, Bleeding And Redness?

I have a mole on my arm (I ve had for since as long as I can remember. I m 33) that started to have pus come out and now starts to bleed. At first it was and still is red all around it. It does not hurt or bother me. I m just really worried it may be some type of cancer. Thanks Heidi

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

This is most probably a skin infection, either a folliculitis Or a furuncle; the infection gaining entry through the hair follicle.
If I was the treating doctor I would have started you on a course of an oral antibiotic for a week e.g either flucloxacillin Or cephalexin. Oral antibiotics are prescription products and I would suggest that you to talk to your physician for the needful.
Topically you may use an OTC topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily for a week.
Don't manipulate or squeeze as this may push the infection into the surrounding tissues.
