What Causes An Elevated Level Of GGT Post A Cholecystectomy?

Hi I am 48 year old female. I had a laparoscopic cholecystectomy in November 2016, all went well. I have also recently been diagnosed with latent TB and have been prescribed Isoniazid 300mg daily. After being on this for a month LFT s were done and my GGT was 202, and ALT was also elevated. Is there a reason why my GGT is so high? Thank you so much Nita

Dear Ma'am, Hi & Welcome.
Suspected Isoniazid induced liver injury.

Based on the history and the results of the LFTs, you seem to have developed some sort of liver dysfunction apparently caused by the anti-TB medication Isoniazid.

You are advised to consult your treating doctor for an alternate effective but a safer medication to eradicate the TB infection.

Hope this will help.

Best of your health.

A feedback is appreciated.
