Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A 69 year old male in reasonably good health asks what can cause an elevated pulse rate while at rest? There is no pain. He donated blood 6/24, and the pulse rate was 94. This AM, it was near 100. Again, no pain. Also, he walks four miles, four days per week in +/- 30 minutes.
The heart rate under 100 bpm is considered normal. Higher than 100 can be related to stress, anxiety, or heart issues. He may need to do an ECG to check heart rhythm.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
