General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

"As" per your clinical history is concerned [D-dimer] test will be high where you have blood clot formation and breakdown of clots inside the body. A positive D-dimer test doesn't mean that you have a clot.

There may be other reasons where it is positive, so clinical history is required to make a diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Uday Nath Sahoo, General & Family Physician
