Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Cancers can be familial. The thyroid nodule that you are developing needs to be investigated. Fine-Needle Aspiration of the thyroid nodule needs to be done to examine the type of cells and hence nature of the lesion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
