What Causes An Episode Of Hallucination Post Arthroscopic Surgery On The Knee?

I spent the night in the hospital following arthroscopic surgery on my right knee. I remember nothing of the night until I woke up the next morning and the nurse verified that I was hallucinating. She said i nearly bottomed out during the night. What does that mean?
